Three Ways to Build Something Testable
Each session is matched to a specific stage of the early-stage journey — from first rough idea to a multi-round validation programme your team can run independently.
Back to HomeHow the Sessions Are Structured
Before we build anything, we organise. Each session starts by breaking the idea into modular parts — what we call the bench layout — so that the time spent building is focused on the right pieces in the right order.
1. Clarify
We ask questions to understand the core idea, the intended user, and what "working" looks like for this particular concept.
2. Organise
We map the idea into modular parts and identify which ones need to be built first to generate useful feedback.
3. Build
We assemble the prototype together using the appropriate no-code tool, and document the output before the session ends.
Idea Prototype Session
A working session for founders who want to shape a small, testable version of an idea using no-code building tools. We sketch the concept, assemble a simple prototype together, and talk through next steps. Best suited to early founders who have an idea but haven't built anything yet.
What's Included
- Working prototype sketch assembled in-session
- Short written summary of decisions and next steps
- Facilitated half-day working session at Common Ground
- Pre-session brief call to orient the facilitator to your idea
How the Session Runs
Brief conversation before the session to understand the idea's current state
Idea decomposition — mapping the concept into testable parts
Prototype assembly using the most appropriate no-code tool
Session wrap-up: written summary shared within 24 hours
Prototype Build Package
For founders ready to move beyond a rough sketch, this package assembles a clickable prototype from no-code parts and prepares it for early user feedback. Aimed at startup teams who have a direction and need something real to put in front of potential users.
What's Included
- Clickable, shareable prototype ready for user testing
- Feedback collection plan — who to talk to and what to ask
- Full-day working session facilitated in person
- Pre-session alignment meeting and post-session summary document
How the Session Runs
Pre-session meeting: review existing idea documentation and identify scope
Morning session: structure and architecture of the prototype
Afternoon session: build the clickable prototype and test the key flows
Feedback plan drafted and session documented — delivered within 24 hours
Validation Sprint Programme
A broader engagement designed for teams that want to run several prototype rounds with structured feedback and build the internal capability to keep iterating. Includes multiple prototype sessions, a feedback framework the team can operate independently, and scheduled review sessions between rounds.
What's Included
- Multiple prototype rounds built across the programme
- Founder-operable feedback framework your team keeps
- Scheduled review sessions between each prototype round
- Full documentation of each round — decisions, outputs, learnings
Programme Structure
Kick-off: idea mapping, scope definition, feedback plan design
Round one: first prototype built, initial user conversations conducted
Review: learnings synthesised, scope for round two agreed
Round two and beyond: iteration continues with decreasing facilitation dependency

Standards That Apply to Every Engagement
Confidentiality
Idea details discussed in sessions are treated as confidential. A formal NDA is available for any package on request.
Written Outputs
Every session produces a written summary. Nothing is left undocumented — you receive the summary within 24 hours of the session.
Dedicated Facilitator
Each session is run by the same facilitator throughout. There's no handoff mid-engagement — the person you brief is the person you work with.
IP Ownership
Everything produced in a session belongs to you. Kettle & Cog retains no rights to prototypes, frameworks, or ideas developed during engagements.
In-Person by Default
Sessions are held in person at Common Ground, Bangsar South. Remote options may be discussed for teams outside Kuala Lumpur.
Tool-Neutral Approach
No-code tools are selected per engagement based on the idea type — not based on preference or platform relationships. The reasoning is always explained.
Clear Prices, No Surprises
All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). No retainers, no add-ons, no hidden fees.
